got my first heart rate monitor a few months back because I felt like I was falling off with exercise. I always grappled, boxed, etc without much attention paid to my actual cardiac numbers, but i getting older and have started to feel winded more easily as well as feeling like i never fully recovered from a workout. I still felt like my heart was racing hours afterwards.turns out it was. let say i sparring and my heart rate goes up to 160. in the first 2 minutes after i stop it falls to about 135, but then it falls VERY slowly back to resting, which incidentally is a very rapid 85.
